Half a sentence, and it gets through. Someone who moves by the same practical logic. But two rigid leaders cannot persuade each other.
ESTJ × ESTJ is the Identity relation, one of the sixteen. Half a sentence, and it gets through.
Written as ESTJ × ESTJ it is the same pair. In 16Personalities terms, the Executive and the Executive.
From shared interests and understanding, the initial sympathy arises at once.
In terms of the mechanism, the "practical logic" in ESTJ's first position and the "sensing that arranges comfort" in the second sit in exactly the same positions in the other. The view you are best at, the other is best at too. So no explanation is needed, and so no new perspective comes from the other either. The strong places overlap, and do not double.
In the old observations, in identity the same elements of both act in the same positions, and a complete, painless repulsion arises. Since no words are needed, there is also nothing the other can hand you. For these two, people's feelings and foresight are absent on both sides.
The observation says this sympathy runs out fast in a close relationship. Over household management, money and order, both are rigid and unyielding, each insisting their own logic of gain is right.
Where identity is most useful is in learning. If a senior of the same type has walked the same road ahead of you, their experience can be used as it is. The observations too say repeatedly that it lasts long as mentor and pupil or with a difference in age. Only when two equal ESTJs do the same thing in the same place does the repulsion described above arise.
Two rigid leaders cannot persuade each other.
Both dislike being contradicted, and in an argument their emotions are suddenly thrown. Coarse, rude, rigid. Both crave the diplomatic, yielding ethics a dual would give.
The empty places are the same too. The "eye that opens possibilities" ESTJ wants most is what the other wants most, and neither has it. The "ethics of people", which each produces with a little effort, takes a little effort from both. What flows in silently between duals never flowed between these two in the first place.
At the first clash of will and business interests, a close relationship often ends.
The weak places are the same too. Anxiety, doubt, suspicion. Poor at forecasting change and allocating time, excessive haste and pedantic punctuality coexist, and both exhaust themselves overfilling the schedule.
They move by the same practical logic.
Shared interests are found at once.
Capable.
They fall apart when contradicted.
They will not yield on money and order.
They carry the same anxieties.
